Format

There will be four types of contributions at HALG’2017:

• Invited survey presentations – Surveying highlights of the algorithmic research in recent years.
• Invited talks – Presenting specific results, highlights of the algorithmic research in the last year.
• Contributed short talks by participants – To present the best work of the participants, published or yet unpublished.
• Poster presentations

The invited survey presentations and invited talks will be selected by the Program Committee. The Program Committee will invite specific researchers to give survey presentations, possibly with additional guidelines regarding the topic. The selection will aim to reflect recent progress and highlight advances in the area, pending guidelines from the Steering Committee, like (1) giving preference to junior researchers, postdocs and students; (2) paying special attention to recent papers in major conferences like STOC, FOCS, ICALP, SODA, ESA, ITCS, SPAA, SoCG, EC, PODC; and (3) maintaining a balance between different session types, like invited and contributed talks.
